As stated today in the assembly, we are in the developing stages of our MCE Alumni Honor Wall. This wall will feature MCE alumni who have served. It will also include those who may not have been able to graduate due to being drafted before graduation. If you send a picture (or scanned copy), include name, graduation year and branch of service. You can send pictures and donations to this address:
MCE High School
ATTN: Honor Wall
5309 South Main
Morrisville, MO 65710
If you send a donation, please mark in the memo section of the check "Honor Wall". Our goal is to raise $500 to help pay for the frames and name plates. #PantherNation

Today, we were blessed to host & honor our area veterans in a festive assembly. A special thanks goes out to retired SSgt Chad Banks for his moving speech and for sharing his journey with us. Thanks also goes out Mrs. Cheryl Hinkle for another outstanding job in organizing this year's assembly. As always, a HUGE thanks goes out to all of our veterans. #PantherNation

This afternoon, we sent our Cross Country Team off to State in style. They will be running tomorrow in Columbia for the State Meet. Good Luck to our runners, Victor, Hanna, Gavin and Libby and to Coach Noblitt. #PantherNation

All area Veterans and Guests are invited today as MCE honors those who have served our country in uniform. There will be musical performances as well as dramatic pieces from our drama department. Mr. Chad Banks, retired Air Force SSgt, will be our guest speaker. The assembly will begin at 10:00 AM in the Wayne Keltner Gymnasium. A lunch for all veterans will follow in the Field House Lobby.

There has been a confirmed case of the Chicken Pox in the elementary school. A letter with more information has been sent home with every student. There are guidelines from the Department of Health and Senior Services that must be followed for certain non-immunized (exempt) students. These individuals have been contacted. You can contact the School Health Office at 417-376-2215 ext 244, your doctor, or the Polk County Health Department with further questions about Varicella Virus (Chicken Pox).

One of the many amazing things about MCE is the giving and servant heart of our teachers and students. Yesterday evening, around 30 students and 10 adults from MCE went to Hands of Hope, which is a service project of Convoy of Hope. Students represented from MCE all came together from these organizations: Student Council, FCCLA, FFA, FBLA, FCA and NHS. Including our numbers, there were a total of 331 volunteers. Here's what our students helped to accomplish:
· 1,723 pairs of Toms Shoes boxed for kids in rural communities all over the US
· 737 baby care kits created for disaster survivors
· 1,000 bags of groceries bagged for the Hope Connection right here in Springfield, MO & 1,200 bags of groceries for a Rural Compassion event in Lake Village, Arkansas
·4,030 lbs of cereal bagged for families in the US
·1,810 lbs of pasta bagged for families all over the world (8,320 meals total!)
· & 5,000 bags labeled for food bagging projects in future weeks (so we can keep bagging those meals!)
What these volunteers did last night, helps Convoy of Hope better serve hundreds of thousands of individuals all over the world through our Children's Feeding, Women's Empowerment, Agriculture, Community Events, Rural Compassion & Disaster Services Initiatives.
Thank you to our teachers for organizing and taking them and for our parents who helped to volunteer with them. #PantherNation

Want to help save a life? You can by giving blood tomorrow, Tuesday the 5th, at MCE High School. The CBCO will be set up in the Wayne Keltner Gymnasium from 9 to 2. Any community member wishing to give can enter through the front doors of the Field House.

Remember to change your clocks back an hour Sunday. Have a great weekend!

In Morrisville, we pride ourselves on being a patriotic community. At MCE, we pride ourselves with a tradition of graduates who have gone on to serve our country. With this in mind, we have created a Wall of Honor. This wall will honor all MCE alumni who have ever donned the uniform of one of the five branches of service. For this wall to be successful, we need the help of the community. This wall will consist of a 5x7 uniformed picture of each alumni. Each picture will then be framed and have a nameplate featuring the name, year of graduation and branch of service. If you have a loved one who has served or is currently serving, we would love for you to donate a picture (scanned or original, either will work) for us to feature them on this wall. The honor wall is situated at the student lot entryway so our students can help to honor their former classmates who have served.
This project, like many others, comes with a small cost. If you know anyone who would be willing to donate to this cause, please see the High School Office and earmark your donation for the Honor Wall. Any amount would be appreciated. Our goal is $500 to help pay for the frames and name plaques.
