Last Thursday the 8th Graders took their annual field trip to Jefferson City! They were able to explore the Capitol building, the museum, the Governor's Mansion, and the Missouri State Penitentiary. Here are some highlights! #PantherNation

The MCE high school track team went to the Lauren Wheeler Relay at Stockton, April 4. Zac Ellis won 2nd in the 400m, 3rd in 200m, and 5th in the 100m. Jack Wiebe won 4th in the 1600m and 5th in the 3200m. Blake Salyer won 5th with a PR in the 400m. The 4x800 relay team of Garrett Waldrep, Evan Mabary, Gavin Hensley, and Blake Salyer placed 6th. Gavin got a PR in javelin.
Lauren Taylor placed 2nd in the 200m, and 3rd in long jump. Kylie Maxwell placed 2nd in javelin, 5th in 300m hurdles, and 6th in discus. Laura Gonzalez got a PR in long jump.
We finished the night with a throwers 4x100 relay with Garrett, Kylie, Ava, and Warren. It was great to see the kids come together and support each other. Good job!

MCE HS Track and Field competed at LRHS Cindy Thompson-Grassi Relays at Logan-Rogersville Tuesday, March 28. Both team competed against 10 other teams, including 5A schools. The tops 3 places medal and the top 8 score points for the team. The boys team placed 4th. Zac Ellis placed 1st in the 100 m dash, 2nd in the 200 m dash, and 1st in the 400 m dash with a new PR. Landon Duchscherer placed 1st in both the 1600 and 3200 with a PR in both races. Jack Wiebe got a new PR in both the 1600 and the 3200.
The girls team also placed 4th overall. Kylie Maxwell placed 2nd in the 100 m hurdles and the javelin, as well as 3rd in the 300 m hurdles. Kylie also placed 4th in the discus. Lauren Taylor placed 2nd in the 200 m dash and 3rd in both the 100 m dash and the long jump. Maddie McLean placed 7th in long jump. Emma Mabary placed 6th in the 100 m hurdles. The 4x400 relay placed 4th with Maddie, Emma, Ava, and Lauren.
This was the first meet ever for several of the athletes. They had an outstanding first meet of the season.
