The winter weather season is quickly approaching and we wanted to share some important information regarding school closings and communication.
Communication
The decision to close school will be made as early as possible. Sometimes this decision can take time as we check multiple road conditions across the district, but we will do our best to make an announcement by 6:00 a.m. School closing announcements will be sent through our automated messaging system. A call and text will be sent to phone numbers that are in our system. In addition, announcements will be made on our social media pages, website, and local news media.
AMI Days
Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) is a flexible form of instruction that will vary based on grade level. In the event of an AMI Day, students will complete assigned work and participate in class remotely and/or be provided paper packets. You will receive additional AMI information from your child's building. When an AMI day is announced, participation and/or completed assignments will be used to track attendance. AMI will be used for the first five days the distinct is closed due to inclement weather. Any additional inclement weather days will be made up according to the 2022-2023 School Calendar.
