Book fair closed today! Did you know funds from our book fairs allow us to give a FREE book to EVERY elementary student 3 times a year & add books to our library? This week we added 270 books to our give away selection & $300 in books for K-12 students to enjoy in the library.

The MCE HS Track Team competed at the Jason Pyrah Invitational Meet at Willard on Thursday. Zac Ellis won 2nd in the 400m. Landon Duchscherer won 4th in the 1600 and 3200, with a PR in both. Jack Wiebe got a PR in the 1600. Warren Jones got a PR in the discus. Garrett Waldrep got a PR in the 100. Gavin Hensley got a PR in the long jump.
Kylie Maxwell placed 3rd in the javelin with a PR and new school record of 112’5.25”. She also placed 6th in the 100 hurdles with a PR. Ava Myers got a PR in the 100. Laura Gonzalez got a PR in the 400. Emma Mabary got PR in the 800. Madigan McLean got a PR in the 100.

Students are enjoying the buy 1 get 1 free Book Fair! If your student missed their scheduled Book Fair time, they will be able to go Friday morning. The Book Fair will also be open Thursday, April 20th from after school until 7:00 pm for Family Fun Night! 📚
This afternoon Bus 10 was rear ended. There are no injuries and this was a very minor accident. Highway Patrol was dispatched due to protocol. Students are on their way home, but might be a few minutes late.

Big night at Strafford HS Invitational Track Meet. 23 schools and we still came home with medals and got some PRs.

Laura Gonzalez got a PR in the 200. The 4x100m relay team with Maddie McLean, Emma Mabary, Ava Myers, and Lauren Taylor, placed 7th.
MCE Elementary basketball camp. We had 29 kids participate from our K and 1st grade. Future panthers and lady panthers.
Polk County Health Dept. will be at MCE on Friday April 21st. They will be offering Tdap and MCV. These shots are required to have before starting their 8th and 12th grade year. If you received a email then your child is in need of the updated shots. To have your child participate in the shot clinic please return the consent form to the school nurse ASAP. Thank you!
The MCE Middle School track team competed at Stockton on April 13. The meet was extremely fast but the kids did a great job. Not sure how many PRs we had but they worked hard! Leighana Leeper won a 3rd place medal in the 100m hurdles, 8th in long jump, and 4th on the 4x100 relay with Charly Dobler, Haven Hart, and Kinley Wilson. Charly also won 5th in the 100m hurdles. Kinley won 7th in the 100m dash. The boys 4x100 placed 5th and the 4x200 placed 6th. Both relays were Jacob Fargon, Gaidge Arthur, Jr. Camacho, and Connor Colf. Connor also won 5th in the long jump. Great job to all of our athletes!
MCE HS Track Team earned a ton of medals yesterday at Ash Grove. Lots of PRs and two school records! Great job! We tried to get a picture of all but some didn't get in it. Sorry!

Lauren won the long jump, 100m, and 200m, and was part of the 4x100m relay that broke the school record. The 4x100 team with Maddie McLean, Emma Mabary, Ava Meyers, and Lauren won 2nd with their school record run. Emma got a PR and won the 800m and placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles. Ava got a PR in the discus and won 5th, as well as 6th in the 100m. Laura Gonzalez won 5th with her PR in the 400 and got a PR in the shot put. Maddie won 5th in the long jump. Hailey Frisbie placed 6th in the 400m. The 4x200m relay team won 3rd place with Maddie, Emma, Laura, and Ava.

Landon Duchscherer got a PR and won the 800m as well as 1st in the 1600m. The 4x400 relay team won 2nd with Evan, Gavin Hensley, Garrett, and Blake. Blake also won 2nd in the triple jump and 3rd in the 400. Jack Wiebe got a PR and won 3rd in the 1600m, as well as 3rd in the 3200m. Evan placed 4th in the 200m and triple jump. Gavin placed 4th in long jump.
